The Ticket Master Episode Analysis

I was intrigued by the show after the opening two-part episode and I did LOVE this episode the first time I watched it, but I was still not quite hooked (but I was super super super close). However, this episode slowly had me getting involved with the characters. It showed some very different sides of the ponies, ones we hadn't seen yet. We also got to see what happens to people when they want something and there is only one of that something to go around; even the nicest pony can be led astray by desire. Anyway, I really did love this episode and it was slowly leading me down the path of pony-ness. NOW TO THE EPISODE!!

It starts off with Twilight helping AJ pick some apples. (This happens a lot with a lot of different ponies). Spike, the lazy dragon, is total lounging and complaining about all the hard work he didn't do when BOOM! letter from the Princess about the epic Grand Galloping Gala, a super fancy party that EVERYPONY wants to be invited to. Twilight has been invited and is allowed to bring one guest. AJ then breaks into this speech about how she would love to go so she could sell her apple treats and get some extra money for the farm to fix it up. To be honest, of all the ponies, this is the most selfless reason for wanting to go to the gala and though it might have made some of my friends unhappy, I probably wouldn't have spent the whole episode running around and just given the ticket to Applejack, but that wouldn't be much of an episode.
So, back to the episode. Rainbow Dash, who has been lazily napping in a nearby tree (and avoiding doing any work on the farm) and jumps in with HER wish to go the 3G. Her one wish, as we learned in the first block, is to become a Wonder Bolt and this would be her perfect opportunity to show off her skills and live out her dream. Now Twilight is in a horrible bind and doesn't know what to do. With only two tickets, she now has to try and make a choice about who to talk. She runs off to eat (since she's mentioned she was hungry about a hundred times now), leaving the two ponies to try and battle it out in their usual way.
Poor Twilight is worried about choosing, but there's NOOOOO way she can pick on an empty tummy. In runs (and crashes) everypony's favourite party thrower! Of course Pinkie wants to go to the 3G cause it's suppose to be the super most awesome party ever and she is all "thanks for taking me Twilight." (Wait... when did she say that?) Then Rarity sees the tickets and is all "I want to meet HIM" (him being Prince Blueblood) and is VERY put out by Twilight picking Pinkie to go instead (which she hasn't done and she finally tells them). Now enters Flutters and her cute bunny sidekick (though it feels like she's Angel's sidekick) and she tells Twilight about all the wonderful flowers and animals she wants to see at the royal gardens. Wow... poor Twilight. No one needs to listen to all that arguing. (And then I said oatmeal? Are you kidding me?!) And now she has to pick between the five of them. Whatever should she do?

Now comes my favorite part: the crazy ways everypony is trying to get Twilight to give them the other ticket. First Dashie saving her from a rainstorm. She ends up drenched and "saved" by Rarity who is just trying to win her over with this super cute outfit. Applejack tries to bribe her with a wagon full of apple backed goods (I would have given in). Then Flutters "spring cleaning" (in the summer). At least Pinkie is honest and comes right out with a musical number... but that leads to a crazy chase all over town cause EVERYPONY wants to go. (Yay for crazy hi-jinx!)
Finally safe in her library, or so she thinks, Twilight is confronted by her friends once more. She tells them that she just can't pick one friend and risk disappointing all of them. It's at this point that everypony (even though Dash needs to get a stern glare) tells Twilight that they were all being horribly unfair to her and tell her that they all don't want the ticket. Twilight writes a letter to Celestia saying that if all her friends can't go, then no one should be able to go. A quick response has the princess telling Twilight that she could have just asked for six tickets (seven when you include spike) in the first place. Sometimes, though, things must be learned the hard way. Now everypony can go to the 3G! YAY!!!

In general, I really do like this episode. It shows how greed and desire can rule even the nicest of ponies and how sometimes giving something up for your friends is better than keeping it. Of course non of this mess would have happened if she had just asked for more tickets in the first place, but then the episode would have been HORRIBLY short and there would have been no awesome chase scene. The moral for this episode is a good one and I think would I liked most about this episode is what Twilight says before sending off the letter. "If my friends can't all go, I don't want to go either." I think if people would stop and think of others for just one moment, the world would be a far better place. Thanks for reading. See you next time.

Don't Bully the Bronies!

In the past two months, I have gotten to hear about two horrible cases of brony bullying. First was Michael Morones, an eleven-year-old brony, tried to hang himself after being bullied for being a brony. For the longest time it was thought that Michael wasn't going to make it, but the latest reports are he's awake, breathing on his own and going through extensive therapy. His prognosis is a lot better than we had all thought it was going to be, but he could still suffer permanent brain damage. All because he felt so horrible about himself because of a show he liked; because some teenage ass hats want to be giant douche bags and call some kid gay for liking a show "made for little girls." The worst thing, the kids who tormented him passed the breaking point wont get any sort of punishment.

So now we have a new case of brony bullying that is also taking place in NC. Grayson Bruce, an awesome nine year old brony, has been victimized not only by the bullies in school but by the school as well. All he did was take his super awesome Dashie backpack to school and he got crap for it and was beaten up. What does the school do? He tells him "Don't bring your backpack to school anymore. It's a trigger for bullying." Not what you expected, right? Apparently him being beaten up was a distraction to the class and if he hadn't brought some with MLP on it, he wouldn't have gotten beaten up. Well, what a horrible person he is! <----insert sarcasm font here. Again, the bullies have yet to be punished, but the victim is apparently free game.

At the end, these boys and so many others are getting shit for being who they want to be and liking something they want to like. I didn't know that bullying the victim further was the way to solve the problem. Maybe we should all just be like everyone else and be completely boring and then no one will have anything to complain about, right? <----more sarcasm.

If you'd like to support Michael, please visit this website. http://www.michaelmorones.org/
Love for Grayson can be given here. https://www.facebook.com/SupportForGrayson

If you want to share your brony bullying story, I'd be happy to listen. I think the more attention brought to this, the better things can become for us. Stand strong, bronies. They have hate, but friendship is magic.

In Defense of... Fluttershy

If you have any sort of love for any one particular pony, it would be a good idea NOT to read any fan forms or watch review videos, cause as sure as I'm sitting here, someone is going to be a total dick and say something mean about your favorite pony. So, as an attempt to combat the doucheness of someponies, I'm starting this "In Defense of" series to highlight the best of all the ponies. I'm starting with Fluttershy because she is my favorite and because I feel a lot about her personality is horribly misunderstood.

In all the lists of why people dislike Flutters, the term Mary Sue always seems to come up. I had to look it up because I had no clue what anyone was talking about. Once I read up on it, I knew people were wrong. How is Flutters perfect? I would think a crippling fear of any kind would make her the complete opposite of perfect. And as for lacking in realism, I can tell you she's not. Let me explain. I have been super shy my whole life. I have a hard time making new friends and talking to new people. People can say my quietness is me being a snob, which just ends up making me feel really horrible. I found out the shyness went beyond that. See, I have social anxiety and agoraphobia which makes doing things that I want to do hard, not to mention the stuff I don't want to do. Due to this, I end up spending quite a lot of time hanging with my animals. I also have horrible stage freight, but am better when I'm just one in a crowd and can blend into the background. Generally, I don't like to cause arguments because I don't want to draw attention to myself, but I don't have as much of a problem with that when I'm with my friends. If you think about it, I just described Flutters, so there goes the argument against realism.

Now a lot of people like to call her names (like cheesy gordita) and their reasoning is that she's just a boring character. "It's always the same story line." Well, speaking as a person with anxiety, it may seem stupid and boring to some, but any sort of improvement is big and getting out of your shell is a really hard task. (I've been in therapy for six years and STILL have a super hard time.) Also, you can't really blame the character for a lack of imagination from the writers. There is a lot more they could do with Flutters that they seem to be unwilling to try. They could explore Fluttershy's temper (which we have seen on more than one occasion) or the complexity of her job (have you ever tried feeding all those animals before). If the writers looked at her from a different angle, they would see she has a bunch of untapped potential.

Also, I know she can come off as being a doormat, but that's not true either. Everypony just needs to try to look at this from a different angle. Have you ever done anything for a friend even when you didn't want to because you knew they would be hurt if you didn't do it? That's Fluttershy! She is just kind (and sometimes too kind, as she has admitted). I suppose in this day and age it would come off as doormatish to think about someone else's feelings before doing something, but that's what she is. Pinkie Pie wants to make everyone smile and Fluttershy doesn't want to make anyone sad, which is a lot harder a task.

Lastly, it's wrong to be harsh on a character because of a bunch of guys. The idea that Fluttershy gets all the brony love because she's quiet and cute is a total guy thing. I like her because despite being shy and "afraid of her own shadow" she is never too afraid when her friends are really in need. Think about it. To do what the other pony's do, she has to push herself ten times harder. I'm not saying you have to love her, but how about cutting her a little slack. It's a bit harder for her and she needs a little help. So yeah, maybe she isn't as complex on the surface as someponies are... doesn't mean she doesn't have depth of character. It just means it's buried a little deeper and you have to look for it.

Friendship is Magic Episode Analysis

It has been my experience that character introduction episodes are always kind of slowly and fans seem to have a problem with them. This is true for the first episode (I'm counting the first two as one episode) of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. It does a great job of interviewing the mane characters and aspects of their personalities as well as some important back story. Everything starts with the legend of the pony sisters, Nightmare Moon and the elements of harmony. Flash to Twilight Sparkle, the over eager student of Princess Celestia, the ruler of all Equestria. She has read in a book (as it is implied that she always does) of impending doom and notifies her teacher. Her teacher, however, instead of going "Maybe I should look into that" tells poor overly anxious Twilight to go off and prepare for the big Summer Sun Celebration and make friends (an obviously completely pointless task). Of course poor bookworm is all pissed off cause her teacher, who has been known to listen to her before, COMPLETELY ignores everything she just said and now has to hang out with people while being mocked by her dragon assistant Spike.(EEEWWW! PEOPLE!!)

Once in town, Twilight meets a host of strange ponies, starting with an all pink one (later discovered to be Pinkie Pie) who gasps dramatically at a simple Hello, followed closely by a pushy apple loving farmer and her family (Applejack), a rather obnoxious pegasus who seems to love to gloat while being lazy (Rainbow Dash), another pushy pony who seems to be obsessed with fashion and Canterlot (Rarity), and finally a super shy pony who only perks up at the sight of Twilight's assistant (Fluttershy). Desperate to get back to her library to do more research, she's beyond surprised (tehehehe) to find a party has been thrown for her. Still harping on the impending doom, she skips the surprise party and instead sulks in her room.
Flash to the beginning of the Summer Sun Celebration and the great reveal of the princess and... *GASPS* she's vanished and been replaced by that old mare's tale Nightmare Moon! No one could possibly have ever seen this coming!!! (I know, children's show. I just like being sarcastic.)
Pinkie Pie *GASP!*
The Apple Family
Rainblow Dry (Rainbow Dash)
Rarity
A Baby Dragon! (Fluttershy)
NIGHTMARE MOON
Cue the closing credits and the dramatic wait for the next episode.... which I will start recapping now!

Previously on the episode of MLP that we just finished watching (though it was almost two weeks in between broadcasts... wonder why they don't do that anymore... ANYWAY) A LOT of crazy shit happened that I'm not going to talk about again cause I just did. Cut to Twilight frantically running to the library for a book (wow, what a shocker) and Rainbow Dash being highly suspicious. Magical, all the ponies show up and AJ is (as she will be most of the time in the future) the voice of reason. "She ain't no spy, but she sure knows what's going on." Good old AJ and surprisingly it's Pinkie who finds the book needed. (Twilight isn't a very good librarian.) Well, everypony has to go into the Everfree forest in order to get all the elements and stop Nightmare Moon from bringing on an eternal night. (Makes sense since she's the moon pony and all.)

So everypony travels through the forest and shows off what their element of harmony is. AJ saves Twilight from falling and reassures her that by letting go she'll be okay. (Honesty) Flutters is super nice to the mean old Manny Roar, who is just grumpy cause he has a thorn in his paw, and no one has to get beat up. (Kindness) Pinkie breaks into song to get rid of the spooky trees. (Laughter) Rarity chops off her tail for ease Steve Magnet's major mustache freak out. (Generosity) Rainbow Dash tells the Shadow Bolts to f' off and fixes the fallen bridge to help her friends get across. (Loyalty)

Manny Roar
Giggle at the Ghosties
Steve Magnet
The ShadowBolts
FINALLY they get to the old castle of the pony sisters (which looks WAY different in the season four opener, but we'll go into that later) and the stones that are supposedly the elements are right in front of them. Everypony leaves Twilight to concentrat (totally not a plot device..) and, of course, the bad guy shows up, takes the elements and Twilight while the other ponies stand around going "TWILIGHT!" (Where's Shining Armor and his Twilly when you need him.) Twilight discovers the "spark" to summon the other elements after the girls find her, everyone gets pretty new jewelry, saves Princess Luna and everypony lives happily ever after... right?
Celestia and Luna
Over all, I really like this two part episode, but I've always been the kind of girl who likes history and character introduction. (It's why Fellowship is my favorite LOTR movie.) However, this doesn't exactly paint the girls in a positive light. Rarity, AJ and Rainbow all come off as being pushy, overbearing and downright rude. Pinkie pie is... well Pinkie and Flutters seems like a pony with a split personality. Twilight is quick to accept people as friends that she just met and willingly trusts them not to get her killed even when going into the Everfree forest a place where no pony knows what goes on when just five minutes ago she was all "friends are stupid." It is at this moment that I have to remember that this is a show for children, not everyone always makes the best first impression, first episodes aren't always that good, and there is a MAJOR time constraint. I wish they could have made this a three part episode; so much more character development and back story could have been done.

Now, here are my thoughts on a few things that have been discussed before. First off, as I have said in a previous post, I see Celestia as a Dumbledore like figure. That whole "I knew you could do it line" really put it over the top for me in seeing her in that light. Second off, I think the reason Luna was locked away in the moon instead of cured is because Celestia was not able to completely control the elements of harmony alone. Knowing she wouldn't be able to truly help her sister herself, she makes the toughest choice of her life and locks her sister in the moon until somepony else can save the day. Also, to all the Princess Twilight haters, there is heavy foreshadowing of her being a princess in this episode. I mean, she has a grown and everyone else has a necklace? How is that even fair? See! Foreshadowing. Of course it is always easier to see something like this in hindsight, but whatever. I'll end this with a funny story. When I first watched this two-parter, I remember coming downstairs and telling my sister (who is my Twilight) "The story is kinda meh but it's too damn cute! I have to watch the next one!" So, that's the end of it. I think a solid 7/10 for the series opener. Thanks for reading and don't forget to comment. I like answering questions and all that good stuff. I have NO idea what to do tomorrow yet, so maybe some suggestions. I know you ponys are reading this! I see the hits! LOVE ME!!!!
Sorry... wrong episode...

OH! I almost forgot everypony's favorite walleyed pegasus filly. Though... she really didn't start out that way, but it would be wrong not to include her, so here's Ditzy. Oh animators. The things you do. (I don't like Derpy. Makes her sound stupid and I just think she's a bit clumsy and forgetful. There! I said it!)

The Ups and Downs of the MLP Fan Base Final Part: The Annoying

Okay everypony. This is just my opinion. PLEASE don't hate me. I'm only trying to get my view of everything out and mean no disrespect to anypony for what they like and believe. This is just what I believe and would never EVER tell someone not to do something. Okay, with that out of the way, onto what I find annoying about the pony fandom. There really are only two things that get on my nerves. 1. Shipping and 2. Religious Connotations. Since I'm like that, I'll start with shipping.

Okay everypony. No one feel picked on by this pic. This is just the ship I have to see the most, so it's the one I'm going with. (Pic provided by Rusneko. Their deviant art is here. http://rusneko.deviantart.com/)
I, in general, I'm not much of a shipper. I hate the stupid mixed names. I hate the out of character situations they get put in. It's not just MLP. I don't like shipping in general, but it really bothers me that people are taking a children's show about six girls who are suppose to be friends and turning it into something WAY more than that. NOT EVERYTHING HAS TO LEAD TO SEX! Someponies are making it sound like that when we don't see them, everypony is having sex with every other pony all the time! Aren't people allowed to be friends anymore without turning it into something else? COME ON!

When I see AJ and Dashie I see two friends who both have a competitive spirit who like to one up each other. I don't see two fillies making out with each other behind the barn! With Flutters and Dash, it's two life long friends. Rarity and AJ just have differing opinions and argue. AND FOR THE LOVE OF CELESTIA! TWILIGHT SPARKLE IS NOT GOING AT IT WITH HER TEACHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry... got carried away... My point is, not everything has to be more than what we see it as. People can just be friends who love each other without sexual love being involved. There is a difference, you know.

Princess Celestia by Azzu-nyan
(This awesome pic was drawn by Azzu-nyan. Here is their deviant art. http://azzu-nyan.deviantart.com/)

My second complaint is this whole idea that Luna and Celestia are gods and the linking of this show with the bible. This has been a pet peeve of mine in a lot of literature and apparently no media is safe from that. Whenever there is any sort of really good, really powerful character, they're linked with God. Or if there is a big struggled between good and evil, it's obviously a link between the fight between God and the Devil. *sighs* Like I said about the shipping, not everything is religious. Personally, I see Celestia is being much more like Dumbledore (who was not a god either!!!) than anything else. She has a student who she purposely puts into dangerous situations to teach her lessons so she can fulfill her ultimate destiny. Of course there is that take of faith and belief in the season one episode Feeling Pinkie Keen (which I will review in more detail later). However, I don't think that's the kind of faith Pinkie is speaking of. I believe Peter Pan said it best. "All you need is faith and trust." Believe me, when it comes to flying, I'm certain Peter was not taking about faith in any sort of god.

So there you have it, everypony. My four part series about my take on the pony community is done. Tomorrow, I think I'm going to take a crack at my first episode review. See you all next time.

Also, please leave comments and stuff. I like comments and I like to know people are actually reading my stuff... I'm extremely insecure....

The Ups and Downs of the MLP Fan Base Part 3: The Ugly

This section is called The Ugly for a very good reason. Some of these bronies ARE the perverts they are accused of being. Just... eeewww...

It was all an accident that I stumbled upon the darker side of the bronies. I was just looking for pictures of Fluttershy to add to my ever growing collection. What I saw in the google search made me want to wash my brain with bleach. I wont show the picture cause I would rather never see it again but it involved Flutters, Dashie and some S&M stuff. It was just... not right. How could anyone pervert such an innocent show like that? Why does everything become sexualized? OVER sexualized! Come on! It's a freaking kid's show about candy colored ponies!!!! Don't make them do that stuff!!! Just... don't... Then my younger brother told me about molestia and I was ready to be sick all over again. Sure! Let's make molestation okay in the context of a children's show! It's totally what the creator had in mind when she made the show. Again, extreme over sexualization of a children's show about candy colored ponies. Yeah! Good idea everypony. Just... seriously... why would you do that?

Then there was my discovery about Cupcakes and Smile HD. *sighs* Okay. I understand. A lot of ponies liked the idea of a darker Pinkie Pie and it was all the show's fault that they had something like that to play with. Yeah, I get it. However, there is no way anypony is going to get me to understand what happened in that story. Just... no. I'm sure I don't have to explain it to everypony and if you don't understand, be VERY grateful and don't go looking for it. I had a similar response to Smile HD, which youtube decided would be a good video for me to watch. WAY WRONG ON THAT ACCOUNT YOUTUBE!!!!! The fact that somepony could set that kind of violence to a song like Smile makes my skin crawl. I know, everyone is entitled to what they like and if I don't like it, I shouldn't watch. My problem is having it out there for some young child to stumble on and giving them nightmares. Again, at the end of the day, this is a children's show about candy colored ponies. A parent should feel safe in letting their child look for pony related things and NOT have to stand over their shoulder the whole time for fear of things like Cupcakes popping up.

*deep breath* Alright. I'm going to go yell at the sky and then I'll be back for the final episode (which will probably get me a lot of shit from the whole brony community but I don't care).

The Ups and Downs of the MLP Fan Base Part 2: The Bad

Does everyone I remember what I said about how awesome this fandom was? It's still all true, but there is a super big down side to everything. It can even be said that the negatives outweigh all the good. Yes, this amazing show is helping to raise a better, kinder sort of girl. However... the amount of douchie older people have increased. I know, people would say that every fandom has it's assholes, but I would expect better from a group of people who love a show that teaches inclusion, tolerance and kindness.

I have seen fights over best pony get ugly... like name calling, almost fist swinging ugly. I personally think a fist fight over who your favorite pony is is REALLY silly, but apparently that is not the case for all bronies. Further, I have seen the bronies fat shaming some of the female fans, saying  things like "How could that fat bitch be Rarity? She needs to lose weight before she can be best pony." It's disgusting, in my opinion, to have these men who supposedly love this show and support it's morals and then do things like that! Artist who draw the ponies as humans and make them overweight often have to disable comments because of all the hate they get for it. I read this under someone's deviant art picture.

"ONCE again, awful reactions from rabid bronies has forced me to, once again, give another explanation for WHY THIS HAS TO EXIST.
So yeah, I will be very honest here and say I drew this mainly to mess around with body types, the nationalities were pretty much last minute and the main point of the picture was to show each of the mane 6 in a varied and unique way, not so much to show off my personal headcanons for them.

Also, I did not have male sexual appeal in mind when I drew this! I was not drawing them for dudes to find "sexy" or "universally attractive", i just wanted to give them a lot of variance, not just in body type but facial features. If they look ugly to you than no prob, it's your opinion after all. "

Artists shouldn't have to explain their work and they shouldn't have to deal with hate because of a differing opinion.
"Pinkie pie can't be fat!" Well, technically she can. She spends all her time eating sweets. "Rarity obviously has giant boobs." Why? Because she likes fashion? Your head cannon is not anyone else's and some of what you draw is just gross... but that's for another post.

So yeah, the fandom is awesome, but then again the fandom isn't and I haven't even gotten to the ugly stuff yet.

See you in my next episode The Ups and Downs of the MLP Fan Base Part 3: The Ugly

The Ups and Downs of the MLP Fan Base Part 1: The Good

Just a little warning to everyone. Today's post will be split up into several parts. As always I like to start with the positive, because once I get to the negative, it's hard to come back. So please enjoy: The Good!

So, I'm really just a baby when it comes to being a fan of FiM and will probably get a lot of grief for my opinions, but I can't help what I see. First I would like to say that I have seen the whole community do wonderful, wonderful things for people in and out of the fandom. It is, by far, one of the most inclusive fan bases I have ever been a part of. (Though, technically, I was never really part of a fandom because I'm just not very good with people. To be honest, I'm really not in this one yet.) The way the people support one another is an amazing sight and the amount of fighting seems to be contained to arguments over best pony. I've been to one of the conventions and though I was clearly not as fanatical as most of the other people there, I got a bunch of compliments about my costume and was bro-hoofed all the time. It felt really good to feel involved, even though no one knew me. Here's me at my first Everfree NW convention.

There is tons of good on the web too! I have seen the bronies, countless times, pull together to help some other pony out and it made me feel good inside that these people were truly bringing the messages and morals of the show to life: everyone is important, everyone should be proud to be different, your friends will always be there for you. These were all things I seemed to be missing from my own childhood (cause kids are freaking mean) and I was so happy to see that there was a show and a whole community of people (including parents) teaching kids today that "friendship is magic".

Even when there are disagreements, the bronies tend to be more courteous to each other than anything else. They're even nice (some of the time) to the brony haters who spend all their time calling these people perverts because "they're watching a show for little girls". It doesn't matter what brought you into the herd, every brony is happy to have you... right??

Well.... not everything has been good and it's the bad parts that seem to stump me the most.
Stay tuned for my next episode in : The Ups and Downs of the MLP Fan Base Part 2: The Bad

Better Know a Pony Cosplayer: Rarity

So, in all her genious, my dear friend, who has become my Rarity, recommended that I interview my cosplay group about how they got started. I, of course, thought it was a BRILLIANT idea, so here is the first entry in my "Better Know a Pony Cosplayer" series. Hope everyone enjoys it.

Confessions of a closet Rarity.

I guess you could say what got everything started was a picture. I had been walking around and seeing images for MLP:FiM...and it frustrated me. Growing up with the originals, seeing this new one got me a little upset. Almost everything from my childhood has been re-vamped, and with new art, new story, it wasn't the same anymore. The picture I mentioned was actually a hate picture I had drawn up, it was of Apple Jack and Rainbow Dash talking, then Dom from Gears of War had taken them in his sights and well....he shot their heads off...then they had a rainbow of blood...it was for lack of a better word, pretty intense for something that started out so cute. A friend of mine had seen it and asked if I'd even seen any of it. Told them nope, they just shook their head and said "watch before you judge." Before watching it I did a little research. Found out that people who did Power Puff Girls, Dexter's Lab, and Foster's Home all where working on it. Including Lauren Faust herself, who I had become a fan of. So I decided what the heck. At first I would watch it in secret. Make sure none of my roommates were home, usually had all the lights off, headphones in, propped up so that if anyone came home I could see them and quickly close out of the tab. One episode turned into two, two episodes turned into ten, next thing I knew I had finished the first two seasons on Netflix. I searched and found out a website I used for anime also had MLP:FiM, and it updated within hours of new episodes being aired...meaning I could stay up to date even though I didn't watch actual TV. Things escalated, I realized not only myself, but as other's pointed it out...I was a lot like Rarity....I was Rarity... One con, Sakuracon to be exact, I met a new friend. Then she was Ariel, I would soon find out that she was Fluttershy. Our friendship grew, almost like magic? Hahaha yeah, shut up. Yes like magic. Her and I became rather good friends, turned out we lived not far from each other either. One day the talk of Ponys came up, and she mentioned she wanted to get a group together, that she wanted to be Fluttershy and that she could see me as Rarity. Next thing I knew, we had a group for the Mane 6, we're slowly adding, but still. I'm up to date, I look up pictures, I get upset when people cosplay as Rarity and make her slutty because well, Rarity is a very classy and elegant pony, not a hussy. I have a little corner in my room for Rarity items, all but one have been gifted to me, I've only bought one item. Thing is, I don't consider myself a 'Brony' or 'Pegasister'. I enjoy MLP:FM for the art, as well as the story line and dialogue. It has a lot of really good lessons that kids can and will learn from, not only that, it has a way to hold the attention of adults who would be "stuck" watching it with their kids. It's super subtle adult humor, or even references to movies and shows like Doctor Who, Terminator, Tomb Raider/Indiana Jones, Star Wars, even The Big Lebowski. It's these subtle little salutes to things that the creators enjoyed when they were young as well as now that make the show enjoyable literally for all ages. Although now, I don't care if my roommates hear or see it (Heck I even got a few people who where more against watching it than I was to watch it. I've actually created a couple of Bronies...ooops...). The point is, I'm a fan because they try to include everyone and everything. It teaches those who watch the show that friendship, love, hard-work, and mistakes can overcome hardships. It really is about bringing people together no matter what. It teaches people that if you do something out of being selfish, that it can hurt other people, that every action has a reaction and outcome that you may have not thought of.

So that was Rarity. I wonder which pony will be next. Hmmmnnn... Post if you have suggestions and I'm always open to feedback. (As long as you are nice. I'm fragile.)

And so it all begins...

Not quite four years ago, I had heard about this show called My Little Pony. I rolled my eyes, remembering what it had looked like when I was a little girl. (Yeah, I lived through the 80s ponies.) So, I paid it no mind at all. I mean, I'd already seen a whole bunch of reboots of shows I had watched when I was little and this was going to be just another one of those shows. Time passed and I started hearing some of my friends talk about it, but I still ignored it. I'd never even seen a picture of the show and had thought it would just look like it had when I was little (which was ugly!!!!!!). Then there was the talk of Bronies. "What the hell is a brony?!" I thought. When I found out, I kind of groaned. Bunch of weird guys watching a little girls show. (Yes, I was like everyone else in the beginning.) It wasn't until after con last year and saw even more stuff about MLP and Bronies that I finally said "Fine! I'll watch the damn show!"

So, right after Sakura Con, I netflixed the first two episodes. To be honest, they weren't really that good. Better than a lot of the children stuff on tv now, but still... I was all "well, I'll watch the next one. It is really cute." So then it was onto episode 3... and then 4... and then the whole first season. I can't honestly say what sucked me in (probably the cute) but I was hooked (and I was Fluttershy). Now I wanted to finish the show. I wanted to cosplay Fluttershy. I wanted my own pony cosplay group. I wanted everything even though I started not wanting anything. After I had seen pictures of the characters, I knew I would end up getting sucked into the fandom and I didn't want to be another convert of the herd.

However, I am and there is no turning back from here. This blog will document my journey through the community and many other pony type things. (Including reviews of all the episodes! WOOHOO!) Hope you all enjoy.
